Ronald Dale Wilson, 72, Casey County, KY (1944-2017)

He served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam and will be accorded full military honors at committal services. He had retired from the Casey County Board of Education, where he served the community and school system as a teacher and a principal. He was also a basketball coach. He enjoyed playing golf and softball. Dale could be seen daily at the local Subway in Liberty, KY. with both of his brothers. He was a member of Dunnville Christian Church. He was the son of the late Willie & and Esta mae Zachary Wilson. His wife of over 52 years, Shelia Neat Wilson, survives. He leaves five direct living descendants, spanning three generations

Ronald Dale Wilson, of Dunnville, KY, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Hospital, Lexington, KY.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT/2pmET, on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Dunnville Christian Church, 1100 S US 127, Dunnville, KY with Bro. Derrick Terry and Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmET, Saturday, May 6, 2017 and after 7amCT/8amET,. Sunday, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.



Pallbearers will be Corey Dial, Randy Dial, Terry Wilson, Ryan Wilson, Kenny Wilson, and Russell True.

Ronald Dale Wilson, 72, Casey County, KY (1944-2017)

Born August 23, 1944 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Willie & Esta Mae Zachary Wilson. He died Thursday, May 4, 2017, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 72 years, eight months, and 11 days.

He served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. Dale retired from the Casey County Board of Education, where he served the community and school system as a teacher and a principal. He was also a basketball coach. He enjoyed playing golf and softball. Dale could be seen daily at the local Subway in Liberty with both of his brothers. He was a member of Dunnville Christian Church.

Dale's life will forever be cherished by his surviving wife, Shelia Neat Wilson. They were united in holy matrimony on August 29, 1964. He is also survived by:
  • His daughter: Angie Stephens of Liberty, KY

  • One sister: Patricia Wilson of Liberty, KY

  • Three brothers: Kenneth (Jeanie) Wilson of Liberty, KY; Carl (Jo) Wilson of Liberty, KY; and Paul (Sharon) Wilson of Alton, Ohio

  • Two grandchildren: Corey Dial and Madison Stephens

  • Two great-grandchildren: Lylah Dial and Kensley Dial
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Veltha True, Deltha Lay, and Iva Jean Johnston; and three brothers, Ivan Wilson, Leo Wilson, and Harold Wilson.
