Opal Pierce, 88, Campbellsville, KY died at 7:40amET, Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Campbellsville.

Funeral service will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Bro. Michael Goodwin. BURIAL: Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Opal Pierce, Taylor County, KY (1928-2017)


Opal Pierce was the daughter of the late Bill Loyall & Oma Underwood Loyall. She was born October 21, 1928, in Green County, KY. She died Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 88 years, six months, and 13 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Opal was a retired worker of Union Underwear where she served for just over thirty years.

She united in marriage to James Pierce in December, 1944 and he preceded her in death on October 9, 1996.

She is survived by:
  • One son: Bobby Pierce and wife, Patricia of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Allen Pierce and wife, Angie and Jennifer Tungate of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four great-grandchildren: Amber Gray and husband, Tyler, Austin Tungate, and Shelbie Pierce of Campbellsville, KY; and Kristan Beard of Lexington, KY

  • Three great-great-grandchildren: Laityn Gray, Jayce Gray and Coheyn Gray of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Effie Gibson.
