Amy Jewell Cyphers Adams, age 92, of Summer Shade, KY, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at NHC in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 5, 2017 at 1pmCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with Brother Larry Hafley officiating. Burial will follow in the Scott Cemetery in Cumberland County, KY. Visitation will be 11am-1pmCT, Friday, May 5, 2017.



Amy Jewell Cyphers Adams, Metcalfe Co., KY/Cumberland Co. KY native (1924-2017)

Born September 21, 1924, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, she was a daughter of the late George Tracy & Vestie Colson Cyphers. She died Tuesday, May 2, 2017, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 92 years, seven months, and 11 days.

She was the widow of the late Billie Adams, who died September 6, 1997.

She retired from Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, IN and was a member of the Cyclone Church of Christ.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter: Pam (Ronnie) Ferguson, Red Boiling Springs, TN

  • One son: Mike (Debbie) Adams, Lenoir City, TN

  • Three grandsons: Christopher Michael and Stephan Ryan, both of Knoxville, TN; and Billy Ralph Ferguson, Red Boiling Springs, TN

  • Five great grandchildren: Chandler Seth Reece and Haley, Nicholas, Hunter and Hayden Adams.
She was preceded in death by one grand daughter, Amy Dean Ferguson; two brothers, Bill and Barlow Cyphers; three sisters, Ruby Smith, Magdeline Wright and Ida Belle Simpson; and one half brother Kelly Cyphers.
