He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He was the commander of VFW Post 7698 in Russell Springs, KY. He was the owner and operator of Russell County Radiator Repair and retired from the General Motors Cooperation. He was a native of Batavia, NY, and a resident of Russell County at the time of his death.

Daryl Clayton Nichols, 69, Sunday, April 09, 2017 at Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Memorial services will be at 2pmCT, Saturday April 15, 2017 at VFW Post 7698, Owenstown School Road, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Ralph Hadley & Allen Withers officiating. Funeral honors will be presented by Columbia VFW Post 6097. Visitation will be after the service. Wilson Funeral Home, Russell Springs, is in charge of funeral arrangements. Interment will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 W Highway 80, Nancy, KY.

He was born on Tuesday December 30, 1947 in Batavia, Genesee County, NY. He was the son of Son of the late Wilma Nichols & Sherman Nichols. He died Sunday, April 9, 2017, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 69 years, three months, and 10 days.

He is survived by :
  • Six daughters: Naomi Spring, Slinger, WI; Emma Nichols, Russell Springs, KY; Katie (Josh) Aaron, Russell Springs, KY; Mary Gossage, Russell Springs, KY Shannon (Bobbie) Luttrell, Columbia, KY Spouse Bobbie; and Dawn (Mike) Bailey, Russell Springs, KY Spouse Mike

  • One sister: Glenna Say, Batavia, New York

  • Two brothers: Gary Nichols, New York; and Vernon Nichols, Russell Springs, KY

  • A host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews

  • Long time special friends: Andy Ciccarelli, Allen Withers and Penny Taylor.
