Garland Dwayne Denson, Casey Co., KY (1946-2017)

'Garland was a member of Cowden's Chapel Church of God where he served as a deacon. "Hop," as he was known by many, was born and raised in Casey County, where he lived all of his life. He was united in marriage to Bonita Vanoy in 1964. They raised four beautiful children. He owned a farm, milk route, and a store. Later in 1987, he married Donna Evans and became the father to three more children. From 1984 until 2017, Garland ran the gas compressors at Button Knob, KY and did carpentry and plumbing work. The greatest change in Garland's life was in 1992, when he accepted the Lord as his Savior. He and his wife were baptized in May 1992 in Green River. Garland lived a wonderful life and felt very blessed.'

Garland Dwayne Denson, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017.

The funeral service will be held at 12pmCT/1pmET, on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Donnie Wilson and Bro. Casey Davis officiating. Burial will follow in South Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.



Pallbearers will be Leon Wesley, Jordan Denson, Nathanael Blevins, Blake Thomas, Tim Callinan, and Tyler Pennington.

Garland Dwayne Denson, of Liberty, KY, He was born on February 28, 1946 in Casey County, KY. He was the son of Annabelle Downs Emerson & the late Noah Wheeler Denson. He died Thursday, April 6, 2017 in Casey County, KY, at the age of 71 years, two months, and 22 days.

  • Five daughters: Lisa Denson, Shannon (and David) Reid, Jenny (and Brian) Dangelmaier, Rachel Thomas, and Sarah (and James) Moore

  • Two sons: Brett (and April) Denson and John (and Christy) Thomas

  • Three sisters: Lucille Byrd, Geraldine Meeks, and Anita Denson

  • One brother: Shirley (and Phyllis) Denson

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Five great-grandchildren
In addition to his Father, Garland is preceded in death by his first wife, Bonita Denson; and one brother, Gene Denson.
