Nell V. Rooks, 82 of Russell Springs, KY, died Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral service for Nell V. Rooks will be 2pmCT, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Richie Curtis officiating. Visitation after 10amCT, Saturday. Interment in the Free Union Cemetery, 4642 Sano Road, Columbia, KY.

She was born July 3, 1934 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter the late Clifton & Letha Burton McGaha. She died Friday, March 31, 2017, at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY, at the age of 82 years, eight months, and 28 days.

She was a member of Free Union Separate Baptist Church.

Survivors are:
  • Her husband: Ira Rooks, Russell Springs, KY

  • Daughter: Brenda (Charles) Shepherd, Columbia, KY

  • Son: Robin (Linda P.) Rooks, Nicholasville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Heather (Eric) Selby, Brandon Robertson, Eric (Brandy) Shepherd, Faith (Adam) Womack, and Lindsey Rooks

  • Three great grandchildren: Ethan Selby, Kaiden Wells, and Ezra Womack

  • One brother: Clifton McGaha, Jr., Columbia, KY
