Slider Humanities Center Recital Hall, 155 Blue Raider DR, Columbia, KY. The event is free and open to all. If you'd like more information contact Phil Hanna at hannap@lindsey.edu or call 270-384-8102. 'The Orchid Ensemble: Music from China and the World' will blend ancient musical instruments and traditions from China and beyond. The ensemble has embraced a variety of musical styles to its repertoire--ranging from the traditional and contemporary music of China, world music, new music, and creative improvisation. Hanna said that bringing the Orchid Ensemble to campus this year was a perfect time to do so. "Jonathan Bernard of the Orchid Ensemble has been working with me for several years to bring this talented group to Lindsey Wilson College," said Hanna. "With a campus community of diversity, our international students, their growing outreach to the community, and an interest in the music of the world, it just seemed right to bring them to Columbia this year."
