Dorothy Dimple Buck, 84, Taylor County/Adair County, KY native (1933-2017)

Mrs. Buck attended the Brethren in Christ Church in Campbellsville, KY and was a supervisor at Edmonton Manufacturing Company in Greensburg, KY for several years. She was a native of Chance, Adair County, KY and a resident of Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY at the time of her death in Columbia, KY. She was the matriarch of a highly regarded family, the daughter of the late Milton & Lena May McIntar Wheet. She was preceded in death by, first husband Robert Calvin Turner (24 Dec 1969), and later by second husband George Buck (9 Jan 2003). She leaves 14 direct living descendants and five step living descendants.

Dorothy Dimple Buck, age 84 years, of Campbellsville, KY passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at 7:35pmCT, at the Signature Health Care Summit Manor, Columbia, KY.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 11amCT/12pmNoonET at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Roy Phillips officiating. Interment will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visiting will be after 3:30pmCT/4:30pmET Monday, March 6, 2017 at the funeral home.

She was born January 18, 1933 in the Chance Community of Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of Milton & Lena May McIntar Wheet. She died Friday, March 3, 2017, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 84 years, one month, and 13 days.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Calvin Turner, on December 24, 1969. She later married George Buck who preceded her in death on January 29, 2003. She was also preceded in death by these siblings: Bobby Creel Wheet, Simpson Wheet, Rachel Huddleston, and Jessie Hill.

She is survived by:
  • One son: Robert C. Turner and wife Donni of Campbellsville, KY

  • One daughter: Barbra Burton and husband Ron of Columbia, KY

  • Step children: Betty Jo Shively, Peggy Gilpin and husband Les, George Alfred Buck, Danny Buck and wife Brenda and Mitchell Buck all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Jan (Jim) Hadley, Latasha (Josh) Sapp, and Felicia (Matthew) Burns

  • Seven great grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren

  • A special friend: Karen Keltner

  • Caregivers: Mary Louise Rainwater and Alice Davisson
