Mary Edna Hadley, 90, Adair County, KY (1926-2017)

She was a Field Representative for the Kentucky Farm Workers Program. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church, was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary and very involved in numerous other community activities. She was the daughter of the late Loren & Annie Cundiff Hadley. She was the matriarch of a large highly distinguished family.

Mary Edna Hadley, 90, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 9:25pmCT, at her home.

Funeral service will be Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. William Davenport and Bro. Michael Helm officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 5pmCT, Friday, March 3, 2017, at the funeral home.

Mary Edna Hadley, 90, Adair County, KY (1926-2017)


She was born June 5, 1926, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Loren and Annie Cundiff Hadley. She died Tuesday, February 28, 2017, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 90 years, eight months, and 23 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Hadley, a granddaughter, Brittany Dwan Brockman and her brother and sister, Bro. Buford Hadley and Jessie Sullivan.

She was a Field Representative for the Kentucky Farm Workers Program. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church, was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Westlake Regional Hospital Auxiliary and very involved in numerous other community activities.

Survivors include:

  • Three sons: Dwight (Carolyn) Hadley, Dwan (Laverne) Hadley, Terry (Rita) Hadley all of Columbia, KY

  • Two daughters: Susan (James) Brockman of Paducah, KY; and Patricia Zatkoff of Columbia, KY

  • Her sister-in-law: Margaret Hadley of Cundiff, KY

  • A very special friend: Carol Murphy of Columbia, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Tiffany (Eddie) Kessler, Columbia, KY; Tara (David) Hansen, Seattle, WA; Angela (David) Karnes and Johnathon Hadley, both of Columbia, KY; Jayme (Doug) McClure and Robby (Rachel) Brockman, both of Paducah KY; Heather Jackson, Nashville, TN; and Eli Jackson, Lexington, KY

  • Seven great-grandchildren: Kasey Blue Kessler, Columbia, KY; Ryder Karnes and Walker Karnes, and Brody Karnes, Columbia, KY; Max Hadley, Columbia, KY; Mason and Hadley McClure, both of Paducah, KY

  • A host of other relatives and friends
