Mrs. Peggy Jean Beams, Taylor Co., KY/Green Co., KY native (1946-2017)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Taylors Chapel United Methodist Church. She was President for 10 plus years for the local United Methodist Women, and District Vice-President for the United Methodist Women. Peggy was also retired from Fruit of Loom, Inc. after 35 plus years of service.

Mrs. Peggy Jean Beams, 71, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, February 27, 2017 at her home.

The funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Jean Beams will be conducted at 12pmNoonCT, Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Columbia, KY, with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. Barney Taylor officiating. Visitation is requested after 10amCT, Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Noah Scott, Mason Skaggs, Ryan Dudgeon, Creed Dudgeon, Gerald Purvis, Bryan Purvis, Gary Bertram, and Gene Vaughn.

Honorary pallbearers: United Methodist Women Members.

Mrs. Peggy Jean Beams, Taylor Co., KY/Green Co., KY native (1946-2017)

Mrs. Peggy Jean Beams was the daughter of the late Oval Warren and Lorena Chaudoin Warren. She was born on January 5, 1946 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Monday, February 27, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY. She was 71 years, one month, and 22 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Taylors Chapel United Methodist Church. She was President for 10 plus years for the local United Methodist Women, and District Vice-President for the United Methodist Women. Peggy was also retired from Fruit of Loom, Inc. after 35 plus years of service.

She was preceded in death by her first husband: Donald Eugene Skaggs on October 6, 1982 having united in marriage on June 29, 1968. She later united in marriage to James William Beams of Campbellsville on December 5, 1992 who survives.

Other survivors include:
  • A daughter: Debbie Scott of Campbellsville, KY

  • A son and daughter-in-law: Troy and Patty Skaggs of Allendale, KY

  • Step-daughters and spouses: Marcia and Mickey Underwood, Cheryl and Kevin Mings all of Campbellsville, KY; and Rita and Chris Thompson of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Grandchildren: Anna Scott of Campbellsville, KY; Noah Scott and his fiancee', Raylen Walker both of Greensburg, KY; Mason Skaggs, Kenzie Skaggs both of Allendale, KY; Jaycee Mings, Sydney Mings, and Ethan Mings all of Campbellsville, KY; Chayse Thompson of Elizabethtown, KY; and Nicole Sullivan of Campbellsville, KY

  • A great-grandson: Reed Scott of Greensburg, KY

  • A brother: Charlie Warren of Summersville, KY

  • Ttwo sisters and a brother-in-law: Judy Mullins, and Cheryl and Kenneth Dudgeon all of Campbellsville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Beams was also preceded in death by a sister: Maxine Hinton.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
