COLUMBIA, KY -- Lindsey Wilson athletics hosts its annual shoe drive on Thursday during the men and women's basketball doubleheader with Shawnee State (Ohio) at Biggers Sports Center.

The annual event is co-sponsored by Sports Reach and Audience One.

Fans are encouraged to donate new or gently used shoes and socks for ministries in Belize, Costa Rica, Liberia and other countries with a population in need of shoes. Fans with a donation will receive free admission into the games.

"We are very proud of how this partnership with Sports Reach and Audience One has benefitted those in need around the world," Lindsey Wilson athletics director Willis Pooler said. "I urge all of our fans to bring as many pairs of shoes or socks they can for this great cause while cheering on our basketball teams. It's a win-win for everyone involved."

Those who wish to donate, but unable to attend to the games, can drop off their donations at the Lindsey Wilson athletic offices any day prior to Thursday's game.

Sports Reach was founded by Robby Speer in 1986, and since its inception, has gone to 20 difference countries on five continents as part of organizational mission trips. Website: SportsReach.org
