Eloise (Lois) Willis, 77, Adair Co., KY (1939-2017)

She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Greensburg, KY and attended the West 80 Church of God in Russell Springs, KY. She was retired from the First and Farmers Bank in Columbia where she worked for 35 years. She was a native of Columbia, KY, and a resident of the city at the time of her death. She was a member of an outstanding Adair County family, the daughter of the late Elbert & Stella Akin Janes and the widow of J.C. Willis. She leaves nine direct living descendants.

Eloise "Lois" Willis age 77 years of Columbia, KY died Sunday, Feb.19, 2017 at Signature Health Care at Summit Manor at 11:45amCT, after several months illness.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Scott Proctor and Rev. Russell Janes the officiating clergy. Interment in the Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. The family will receive friends after 4pmCT on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home

She was born March 5, 1939 in Columbia, Adair County, KY, the daughter of the late Elbert & Stella Akin Janes. She died Sunday, February 19, 2017, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 14 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband J. C. Willis on July 12, 2012. She was also preceded in death by these siblings: Evola Farrow, Marcella Burris, Gail Marie Janes, Mathew Janes,

She is survived by
  • One son: Tracy Willis and wife Donna of Russell Springs, KY

  • Two brothers: Rev. Russell Janes and wife Dee of Horse Cave, KY; and Rev. Jadell Janes and wife Carolyn of Columbia, KY

  • Three sisters: Joyce Wallace and husband Dan of Columbia, KY; Leola Edmonds of Columbia, KY; and Sue Jenkins and husband Jim of Tampa, FL

  • One sister-in-law: Pat Janes

  • One brother-in-law: Harold Farrow

  • Three grandchildren: Trista (Jordan) Burton, Candise (Nicholas) Eaton, Jonathan (Ciarra) Irvin

  • Three great grandsons

  • Two great grand daughters

  • A host of nieces and nephews

  • And a host of friends
