Marvin Lee Phelps age 72 of Edmonton, KY, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Monday, January 30, 2017, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Moore Springs Cemetery, Subtle, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Sunday, January 29, 2017, and after 9amCT, Monday, at the funeral home.


Marvin Lee Phelps, 72, Metcalfe County, KY (1944-2017)


Marvin was the son of the late Harley and Magdalene Gibson Phelps. He was born February 27, 1944. He died Friday, January 27, 2017, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 72 years, 11 months.

He was a logger and member of the Trinity Christian Outreach Church. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Wilma Gibson Phelps, and the following:
  • One son: Bobby and wife Leigh Anne Phelps of Glasgow, KY

  • Two daughters: Tonya and husband John Caffee of Edmonton, KY; and Mary Mae and husband Brad Hensley of Edmonton, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Taylor and Maggie Phelps; Allison, Jackson and Ava Caffee; and Bryson and Riley Hensley

  • One brother: Danny Phelps and wife Connie of Edmonton, KY

  • And a host of nieces and nephews
