Bro. Elvis Tucker, 73, Russell County, KY (1943-2013)

He was a Veteran of US Army He professed faith in Christ October 12, 1977. Called to preach, February 9, 1986, he was ordained to ministry March 8, 1987. He was a native of Russell County, KY and was a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Elvis Earl & Ada West Tucker. His wife of 49 years, Marlene Tucker, survives. He leaves five direct living descendants

Bro. Elvis Tucker, 73, of Russell Springs, died Friday, January 27, 2017 at his home.

Funeral service for Bro. Elvis Tucker will be 11amCT, Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Troy Coffey and Bro. Donald Wilson officiating. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Sunday, January 29, 2017, and after 8amCT, Monday. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Sunshine, KY. Special Music will be by Leonard Wilson, and the Square Oak Quartet.

He was born August 3, 1943 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Elvis Earl & Ada West Tucker. He died Friday, January 27, 2017, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 73 years, five months, and 24 days.

He was a Veteran of US Army He professed faith in Christ October 12, 1977. Called to preach, February 9, 1986, he was ordained to ministry March 8, 1987.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Lester, Arvester, Sylvester, Chester, and Leslie Tucker.

He is survived by his wife: Marlene Tucker (married November 4, 1967), and the following:
  • Two children: Lynette Whittle, Russell Springs, KY; and Matthew (Susan) Tucker, Columbia, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Jacob Dick, Justin, and Jordan Tucker

  • Six sisters: Ramona Popplewell, Russell Springs, KY; Exetta Wilson, Jamestown, KY; Golda (Jess) Hinkle, Russell Springs, KY; Joyce (Arvin) Wilson, Russell Springs, KY; Clora (Lloyd) Luttrell, Liberty, KY; Mary (Danny) Richardson, Lexington

  • And one brother: Glen (Judy) Tucker, Russell Springs, KY
