Mr. Melvin Douglas (Doug) Martin, Taylor Co., KY (1930-2017) Mr. Martin professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church. He was veteran of the Korean conflict and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Mr. Martin was a distinguished farmer and conservationist and had received many local, state, and national commendations and awards for his dedication to agriculture and conservation education. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the American Legion, a member of Pitman Masonic Lodge No. 124 F & A. M., and a charter member of the Taylor County Fair Board. His wife of 65 years Reba Allen Martin, survives. He leaves 16 direct living descendants. Bro. Landon Hadley and Bro. Don Gowen will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3878 Greensburg Rd, Campbellsville, KY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Saturday, January 28, with Masonic rites conducted at 6pmCT/7pmET. He was the son of the late Cloyd & Amelia (Jones) Martin. He departed this life on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, being 86 years, 11 months, and 25 days of age. Mr. Martin professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church.
