She becomes the second Blue Raider this season to earn the award after teammate Chanel Roberts claimed the honor last week Click on headline for complete story By Charles Balcom, Assistant Sports Information Director Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - (Mon 23 Jan 2017) Kayla Styles is the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday. The junior forward from Louisville, Kentucky led the fourth-ranked Blue Raiders to a pair of MSC road victories last week. She averaged 21.5 points per game while grabbing 9.0 rebounds per contest and shooting 58.1 percent from the floor. Lindsey Wilson is now 19-0 on the season and 7-0 in conference play atop the Mid-South standings. Against Georgetown (Ky.), she scored 16 points and had eight rebounds as the Blue Raiders went on to win 85-56. Styles also chipped in with three assists, three blocks and a steal. In the NAIA Network Game of the Week on Saturday at No. 6 Shawnee State (Ohio), Styles recorded a career-high 27 points and capped off her double-double with 10 rebounds, while tallying another three blocks and a steal en route to Lindsey Wilson's 84-78 win. Styles earns her first weekly honor of the season and of her career. She becomes the second Blue Raider this season to earn the award after teammate Chanel Roberts claimed the honor last week.
