LWC men's tennis picked to win 2017 MSC Title

By Anthony Latessa

The Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team was selected to finish first in the Mid-South Conference, according to the MSC Preseason Coaches' Poll announced by the Conference office on Tuesday.

The Blue Raiders garnered 36 total voting points and six first-place votes. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.

Lindsey Wilson captured both the MSC regular season and tournament titles a season ago, and later advanced to the NAIA National Semifinals. The men's program has won the regular season title 12 times over the past 13 years.

Right behind Lindsey Wilson in second place is Cumberlands (Ky.) with 26 points. Campbellsville comes in at No. 3 with 24 points. Cumberland (Tenn.) is No. 4 with 23 voting points and receiving the other first-place vote.

Rounding out the poll is Pikeville (Ky.) at No. 5 with 17 points, Georgetown (Ky.) is ranked No. 6 receiving 15 points. Shawnee State (Ohio) entering its first season of competition comes in at No. 7 with six points.
