She was a member of a highly regarded Russell County, KY, family, the daughter of the late David M. & Zella Cooper, and the widow of James Homer "Smokey" Kinnett. She leaves 12 direct living descendants.

Betty Kinnett, 88, of Jamestown, KY, died Saturday January 14, 2017 at her home.

Funeral service for Betty Kinnett will be 1pmCT, Tuesday January 17, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Glen Richardson officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Monday, January 16, 2017, and after 11amCT,on Tuesday until funeral time at 1pmCT. Interment in the Jamestown Cemetery, 201 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY.

Betty Kinnett, 88, Russell Co., KY (1928-2017)

She was born February 19, 1928 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late David M. & Zella Cooper. She died Saturday, January 14, 2017, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 10 months, 26 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Russell Springs United Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Homer "Smokey" Kinnett; two brothers, Dr. Olaf Cooper, and Bro. Dewey Cooper and a sister, Judith Gordon.

Survivors include:
  • Three sons: Jock (Linda) Kinnett, Lexington, KY; Tommy J. Kinnett, Jamestown, KY; and James Mark (Danielle) Kinnett, Jamestown, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Micah, Sarah, Katelyn, & Stephanie

  • Five great grandchildren: Madalyne, Mia, Dylan, Harrison & Hudson
