Adair Fiscal Court report 10 Jan 2017: Court denies lawyer bill Magistrate Daryl Flatt (2), objects, and full court agrees, that payment of earlier bill, incurred without prior court approval, had stipulations which were to be met before the court would pay subsequent bills. After the vote, the matter appears to be in the hands of Adair Circuit Judge.Click on headline for complete item See: Adair Fiscal Court Report, Tue 10 Jan 2017 Session for additional court items and photo(s) as added By Ed Waggener The Adair Fiscal Court unanimously agreed with Second District Magistrate Daryl Flatt at the regular session of the Adair Fiscal Court, Tuesday, January 10, 2017, refusing, by a vote of 8-0 to pay a statement from from the Edmonton, KY, law firm of Howard & Howard - unless ordered to do so by the Adair County Circuit Court. Flatt raised objections to pay a $3,000 legal bill for the Adair County Board of Elections, citing the circumstances under which an earlier $5,000 legal bill, - also not previously authorized by the Court - had been paid. In approving the $5,000 payment to Howard & Howard, the court had stipulated that the Court could not honor future legal bills on behalf of the Board of Elections unless the court's approval were first obtained, or unless ordered to pay the bill by the Circuit Court Judge. The item was the only one stricken from the payment of bills. This story was posted on 2017-01-11 11:41:43
