J.O.Y Ministries wants to take this opportunity to thank our partnering churches, businesses, individuals and students that have made our 2016 year so successful and allow you to see what your support has done for the Kingdom.

JOY was in charge of all the food prep, service and serving of food to the students at ACHS Project Graduation for 2016.

This year our foreign mission including supporting missionaries to the Dominican Republic (2), Paraguay (1) and Argentina (1) as well a women's mission programs.

U.S. missions included: in the spring 18 youth and adult chaperones took a mission trip to Eastern Kentucky and worked in a homeless shelter/soup kitchen and had a block party for families in low- income area housing. As well as helped sponsor a man to go help with flooding in Louisiana.

From June-October we ran the JOY van for children to receive free "Square Meals" from the Farmer's Market.

3 of our JOY members were trained in Georgia to facilitate Beauty for Ashes retreats through Adventures in Missions.

We helped 50 of our local children from low income families receive Christmas gifts and 25 families received food baskets.

We also partnered with the local Salvation Army in donating food items to be distributed throughout our community during Christmas as well as partnered with the US Civil Corps and Dream Depot to provide a Community Christmas Meal and toy give away.

We had our 5 th annual JOY mission week this past summer; with approximately 100 middle high

school students along with college age and adult workers. During this week we were given the opportunity to stay at 3 Trees church this summer, as our camp continues to grow, which meant our need for accommodations is also growing!

We had the opportunity to do a variety of community service projects this summer. We did backyard bible schools in several low income areas, cleaned and organized out storage buildings, sent out meals to 300+ people, cleaned and painted various areas, worked at the Crisis Resource Center, went to adult day facilities and ministered to the elderly and had our back to school bash in which we invited 100 students to receive a voucher for new shoes, new backpack, gently used clothes and a new haircut to start school as well as our youth cooked and served each family that came a meal. During missions week we had 9 young people accept Christ as their Savior, 18 rededicate their lives to Christ, two baptized and 10 more claimed God was calling them to some kind of ministry.

This year we opened the JOY Crisis Resource Center (CRC) in April of 2016. This allowed us to open a food pantry, clothing closet and assist individuals with expenses involved in losing their home or for those that currently were homeless. We had approximately 2000 volunteer hours documented from April.

In December at the center. We were able to help in the following ways through the CRC this past year:
- Approximately 500 families received food, clothing, furniture and or toiletries through services at the Crisis Center.

- Hotels for those without a home or traveling through - 33 nights

- Rent for those without homes or in danger of losing homes - 20 families

- Help with electric - 14 families

- Help with water - 8 families

Total for this assistance: $9,263.41

- Helmets for kids - $139.68

- JOY Operating expenses, storage unit, rent, internet, phone, utilities, insurance - $6547 -Mission week expenses (tshirts, gas, shoes, food, cleaning supplies, backpacks, etc - $5000

- Mission trip expenses (Harlan, KY., Louisiana, Paraguay, Dominican Republic and Argentina) - $3080

- Hearts on Fire Youth Conference (40 youth and chaperones) - $2500

- JOY Board Conference costs - $500

- Beauty for Ashes Conference - $750

- Money directly spent toward Christmas gifts for disadvantaged youth - $698.56

Giving

Total financial giving - $28,478.65

Other giving - food, clothes and time is immeasurable!

This also does not include individuals (like you) who volunteered to do hotel nights, gas, food, Christmas gifts, etc. for those in need throughout the year.

Our grand total for all ministry given away, ministry training and operating expenses is - $28,478.65 in 2016.

Jesus commanded us in Matthew 29:19-20 to "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Then again in Acts 1:8 He told us exactly where to do this... "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem (our own city), and in all Judea (our state) and Samaria (our country), and to the ends of the earth (everywhere)." It is important to us to be an Acts 1:8 ministry and we feel so blessed God provides us to do that!

We praise God for allowing us to be part of His ministry this past year. As a result we directly saw several persons accept Jesus Christ as Savior, people connect with churches and even more recommit their lives to Christ or His work. As well as a handful of young people that submitted to God's call on their life into ministry. However, we have no idea the seeds we have planted along the way in dropping Scriptures, sharing His message, feeding His Sheep, clothing the poor, loving His people in our community, our state, our country and across so many continents.

It is amazing what God can do with so little, Jesus says when we are faithful with a few things; He will put you in charge of many things. (Matthew 25:21)

Thank you church partners, businesses, local organizations and individuals for any part you played in serving, donating and praying for these things and we look forward to serving God with you next year!! We have so many things we want to do for His people this year!! Prayers for the ministry that God will do in 2017!!! - Maggie Coleman
