Lillian Raney, age 93, of Kings Mountain, KY, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016, at her home in Kings Mountain, KY.

Funeral services will be at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the Corinth First Church of God, 1962 N KY 501, Kings Mountain, KY 40442. The service will be officiated by Bro. Marshall Malone, Bro. Bus Bastin, and Bro. Tim Carman. Burial will follow the service in the Bethelridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberrty, KY, and 10am-12pmNoonCT/11am-1pmET, Thursday at the Church.

Lillian Raney, 93, Kings Mountain, KY (1923-2016)

Born September 25, 1923, in Casey Co., KY, she was a daughter of the late John Nelson Bastin and Gracie F. Cooper Bastin. She died Monday, December 26, 2016, in Kings Mountain, KY, at the age of 93 years, three months, and one day.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Corinth First Church of God. Mrs. Raney also enjoyed quilting.

Survivors include:
  • Her son: Wendell V. (and Teresa) Raney of Kings Mountain, KY

  • Daughter: Carolyn Yvonne (and Darrell) Carman of Lexington, KY

  • Brothers: Norman (and Betty) Bastin of Liberty, KY; Leon Bastin of Indiana, and Jan (and Lou) Bastin of Hustonville, KY

  • Eight grandchildren
  • BR>
  • Ten great-grandchildren

  • Eleven great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William Tearl Raney, who passed away on February 11, 1981; daughter, Bernetta Faye Raney; brothers, Otis, Cecil, Robert, and Travis Bastin; sisters, Marie Salyers and Beulah Spears; and two grandsons also preceded her in death.
