Carroll Benningfield, Taylor County, KY (1945-2016)

Carroll was an avid farmer, a member of the Taylor County Cattleman's Association and loved working with his Angus cattle. He was owner and operator of Red Bud Farm where he worked countless hours over the years. He was a proud dad, papaw and brother. He treasured time with his siblings was a friend to everyone he met.

Carroll Benningfield, 71, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 12:05amET, Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in Campbellsville.

Funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Steve Skaggs. Burial will be in Brockman Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3pmCT/4pmET, Monday, December 26, 2016 at the funeral home.


Carroll Benningfield, Taylor County, KY (1945-2016)

Carroll Benningfield was the son of the late Clarence Benningfield and Jessie E. Page Benningfield. He was born August 16, 1945, in Taylor County, KY. He died at Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 71 years, four months, and five days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church.

Carroll was an avid farmer, a member of the Taylor County Cattleman's Association and loved working with his Angus cattle. He was owner and operator of Red Bud Farm where he worked countless hours over the years. He was a proud dad, papaw and brother. He treasured time with his siblings was a friend to everyone he met.

He united in marriage to Judy Shively March 25, 1967.

Besides his wife, Judy Shively Benningfield of Campbellsville, he is survived by:
  • One son and one daughter: Keith Benningfield and Kelly Carney and husband, Mark of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Kaitlyn Benningfield Green of Lexington, KY; Drew Benningfield, Shelby Carney and Mackenzie Carney, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four brothers and four sisters: Edward "Boss" Benningfield and wife, Barbara Jean, Billy Benningfield, Betty Jean Graham, Sue Pierce and husband, Pete, all of Campbellsville, KY; James "Boody" Benningfield and wife, Shirley, Ronnie Benningfield and wife, JoAnn of Finley, KY; Shirley Raikes of Louisville, KY; and Opal Henson of Crestwood, KY

  • Sister-in-law: Mary Frances Veatch and husband, David of St. Joe, KY

  • Nineteen nieces and nephews, several cousins and numerous friends.
Carroll was also preceded in death by two sisters: Linda Simpson and Aileen Gaddis and three other siblings in infancy, father and mother-in-law, Gilbert and Exie Wise Shively, five brothers-in-law: Earl Gaddis, CV Henson, Jimmy Raikes, Freddy Graham and Larry Simpson.
