Mr. John Lanis Goode, 65, of Campbellsville, KY departed this life on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Hosparus Care Center in Louisville, KY.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Goode on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 10amCT/11amET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. David Wray will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Thursday, December 22, 2016.



John Lanis Goode, 65, Taylor County, KY (1951-2016)

Mr. John Lanis Goode of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late John and Nellie (Hoosier) Goode, was born in Taylor County, KY, on October 19, 1951. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 65 years, 2 months, and 1 day of age.

Mr. Goode professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He worked in the heating and air conditioning industry until his health failed. Mr. Goode loved to laugh and always looked for the best in any situation. His gentle and kind spirit will be dearly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

  • Two sisters: Maxine Blankenship of Campbellsville, KY; and Patty Sullivan and husband Dempsey, of Lebanon

  • A close friend and companion: Brenda Emerson of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews: including Gavin Sullivan of Lebanon, KY; Marie Daugherty and husband Bill of Bardstown, KY; Lora Montgomery and husband Ricky of Russell Springs, KY; Tom Russell and wife Kim of Campbellsville, KY; Ricky Gabehart and fiance Mary Wesley of Campbellsville, KY; Billy Dickens of Green County, KY; and Susan Reardon of Campbellsville, KY

  • Great-nephews: Dustin Montgomery and Kyle Montgomery of Russell Springs, KY

  • And a host of other family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Dickens.
