Mr. Rodney Cross, Taylor County, KY (1960-2016)

Mr. Cross professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church. He installed floor tile, and was a talented singer and cook. He enjoyed barbequing, gardening, hunting and fishing, and was a leading example to kids as a little league soccer and baseball coach.

Mr. Rodney Cross, 56, of Campbellsville, KY, departed this life on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Cross on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 6pmCT/7pmET,in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. Rev. J. Alvin Hardy will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 23, 2016, from 3pmCT/4pmET, until time for the service. Mr. Cross will be cremated after the funeral and his ashes will be laid to rest in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY, at a later date.

Mr. Rodney Cross of Campbellsville, KY was the son of the late William and Willa (Johnson) Cross. He was born in Chicago, Cook County, IL, on August 11, 1960. He departed this life on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital,Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, after a brief illness. He was 56 years, 4 months, and 5 days of age.

Mr. Cross professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church. He installed floor tile, and was a talented singer and cook. He enjoyed barbequing, gardening, hunting and fishing, and was a leading example to kids as a little league soccer and baseball coach.

He leaves to cherish his memory:
  • Four children: Raymond Fowler and wife Jessica of Louisville, Tyler Cross and wife Hannah of Charleston, South Carolina, and Rebecca Cross and Jacqueline Cross, both of Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother and one sister: Mike Cross and Lisa Cross, both of Las Vegas, Nevada

  • A former spouse: Bonnie Cross of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Halle Reese Cross, Raymond Carl Fowler, V, and Levi Henry Fowler

  • A good friend and former father-in-law: Orville Smith of Campbellsville, KY

  • And a host of extended family and friends.
