Metcalfe County Christmas Parade today, 10 Dec 2016 CM regular columnist Carol Perkins, with her talk show co-host Susan Shirley, with the Parade Grand Marshals. Christmas Events in Edmonton start at 9amCT, with the Metcalfe County Elementary School Bazaar in the Metcalfe County Middle School gymnasium, 208 Randolph Street, Edmonton, KY. Click on headline for complete story By Gaye Shaw, Executive Director Edmonton/Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce The Metcalfe County Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 1pmCT. Entries will assemble at Metcalfe Elementary School, 701 W Stockton Street, Edmonton. To be judged, an entry must be there by 11amCT. If one simply wants to ride in the parade, one should be there by 12pmNoonCT for the lineup. This year's parade theme " A Magical, Musical Christmas" was submitted by Maddox Glass, a first grade student at MCES. Maddox received twenty-five Metcalfe Dollars and will ride with Santa on a fire truck in the parade. Metcalfe County's beloved teachers/radio talk show hosts Carol Perkins and Susan Chambers will lead the parade as Grand Marshals. Because of the generosity of local businesses, there will be cash prizes in eight categories: Float, Business; Float, school; Float, civic; Float, Church; Float, friends/family; Vehicle, Mules/Gators; Miscellaneous. First prize in the float categories is $125, second prize is $75 and third prize is $50. Cash prizes for the remaining categories is first place $50 and second place, $25. As of press time, the sponsors include Carhartt, Metcalfe Health Care Center, Jeffries Auto Salvage, Glass & Thompson Insurance Agency, Edmonton State Bank, Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.; Metcalfe County Schools, Bowling Community Park, South 65 Communications (WHSX 99.1), Miller Family Dentistry, Cave Hill Motel, Herb Sparks, Mary Shive, Carol Chaney, Michael Welsh, Whitlow's Family Vision, Tommy Garrett, Howard Garrett, Curtis Estes, Wall Works, and Kenny Scott.
