Calvin Wayne Shaw, 65, Tompkinsville, KY (1951-2016)

He was a dispatcher for Monroe County and a member of the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ. He was a native of Dubre, KY, and a resident of Tompkinsville, KY, at the time of his death. He was a member of a highly respected family, the son of the late Finis and Lillian Parke Shaw. His wife of 38 years, Becky Shaw survives. He leaves five direct living descendants. Among his survivors are a sister, Della Shaw, and a brother, Charles Whitlow, of Columbia, KY

Calvin Wayne Shaw, age 65, of Tompkinsville, Ky. died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11amCT, at the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ, with Brother Tim McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in the Harlan's Crossroads Cemetery. Visitation will begin Thursday, November 10, 2016, from 2pmCT-8pmCT, at the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ and on Friday after 7amCT, until time of services.



Calvin Wayne Shaw, 65, Tompkinsville, KY (1951-2016)


Born January 28, 1951, in Dubre, KY. He was a son of the late Finis and Lillian Parke Shaw. He died Tuesday, November 8, 2016, in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 65 years, nine months, and 11 days.

He was a dispatcher for Monroe County and a member of the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ.

His wife of 38 years, Becky Shaw, survives.

In addition to his wife, survivors include:
  • One daughter: Gina Netherton, Tompkinsville, KY

  • One son: Jonathan (Jessica) Shaw, Rock Bridge, KY

  • Three sisters: Della Shaw, Columbia, KY; Lois Wright, Marrowbone, KY; and Nellie Shaw, Marrowbone, KY

  • One brother: Charles Whitlow, Columbia, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Kaden Thomas Netherton, Abby Grace Shaw, and Keaton Wade Shaw

  • And his mother-in-law: Jeanette Harlan.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Delpha Meredith, and an infant sister, and one brother Ed (Bull Man) Shaw.
