Another successful Treats On The Town - 31 Oct 2016

Thank you to all who made event another great success

By Debbie Selby, Chair

We can chalk up another successful Treats On The Town. It was an awesome sight to see the public square lined with children. It was estimated between 1500 to 1800 children attended.

Costumes were outstanding this year.

I would like to thank everyone who participated in any way to make this a successful event.

I could not do this without the businesses and churches who participate.

Thank you so much to Jason Cross and the Columbia Police Department and Sheriff Harrison Moss for their assistance in make this another successful and safe event.

I would like to thank the following organizations for taking time out of their busy schedules to make it a totally fun night for everyone.

A sincere thank you to:

Adair County Ambulance Service, WAIN Radio, Walmart, Goodwill of Columbia, Three Trees Church, First & Farmer Bank, Melson Ridge Separate Baptist Church, Southern Adair Repair, Kevin Sommer Trucking, Journey To Independent Living, Plumpoint Methodist Youth Group, Egypt Christian Church, United Citizens Bank, Barger Insurance, Shawn's Quik Lube, Integrity Staff Management, Adair Progress, Bank of Columbia, Kickin Kids, Reed Brother Insurance, Durham & Zornes Attorneys At Law, House of Styles, Adair County Public Library, Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss, Jailer Joey White, County Attorney Jennifer Hutchison-Corbin, County Clerk Lisa Greer, Community Trust Bank, Kimbler's Plumbing, Mt. Carmel Methodist Church, Stitch Me Beautiful, Rumors Hair Salon, and Bearwallow Methodist Church.

A special thank you to Billy Pickett and the Adair County Jaycees for the most popular handout of cotton candy. Billy is to be commended. It takes a lot of money, work and coordination to prepare enough cotton candy for such a crowd.

If you have an opportunity, please thank these businesses and churches for being so generous and thoughtful to the children of our community. Our youth are our future so they deserve a little special treatment. Again, a sincere thank you to everyone who participated in any way because I am truly grateful. - Debbie Selby, Chair, Treats On The Town.
