Important times for Square shutdown to traffic, StoryWalk(R), and Treats on the Town

News from Debbie Selby, Columbia/Adair County Chamber of Commerce

Debbie Selby, chair of the Chamber of Commerce Treats on the Town sends a reminder about the major events for October 31, 2016:


- 2:30pmCT - The Columbia Police Department will close the Square to traffic at these points: Jamestown Street at Reed Street, Campbellsville Street at Reed/Merchant Streets; Greensburg Street at Monroe Street, and Burkesville Street at Fortune Street.

- 4pm-7pmCT - Treats on the Town, a fun and safe halloween promoted by the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce. Everyone is welcome to set up around the Square - bueinesses, churches, civic groups, elected officials,families, individuals, young or old. Dress in costume, set up and decorate atreats table or car trunk hand out with individually wrapped treats for the kids. To register and secure your spot, contact Debbie Selby, 270-384- 6433 x 7224 or 270-250- 1046.

- Any time September 29 - October 31, 2016. StoryWalk(R) around the Columbia Public Square. Enjoy the "Squarecrows" while reading the charming Pumpkin Town The story begins at Monkey Business and will end at JOY Ministries/Cafe on the Square. Simple walk around the Square and read the book with your child, and look for a treat at the end of the trail. StoryWalk(R) is sponsored by Adair Public Library, Family Resource Center, and WATCH with support from Downtown Businesses.
