Kenneth Colvin, Taylor County, KY (1924-2016)

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a retired semi-truck driver after 62 yrs with Fruit of the Loom and H & O Transport. He was a member of the Pitman Masonic Lodge #124 F & AM, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.He was the son of the late Harlan Colvin and Maggie Eunice Richerson Colvin. His wife of over 73 years, Mary Aileen Melton, survives. He leaves 17 direct living descendants.

Kenneth Colvin, 92, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 8:45amET, Friday, October 28, 2016 in Campbellsville.

Funeral service will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Dr. James E. Jones and Rev J. T. Rafferty. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, 200 Block of W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Kenneth Colvin, 92, of Campbellsville, KY, was the son of the late Harlan Colvin and Maggie Eunice Richerson Colvin. He was born September 26, 1924, in Taylor County, KY. He died aFriday, October 28, 2016 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 92 years, one month, and two days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

He was a retired semi-truck driver after 62 yrs with Fruit of the Loom and H & O Transport.

He was a member of the Pitman Masonic Lodge #124 F & AM, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.

He united in marriage to Mary Aileen Melton June 20, 1943.

Besides his wife, Mary Aileen Melton Colvin, of Campbellsville, KY, he is survived by the following:
  • One son and two daughters: Joyce Ann Colvin and Paula Hunt and husband, Terry of Campbellsville, KY; and David "Sonny" Colvin of Shepherdsville, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Michelle Milby and Kenneth Allen Colvin of Summersville, KY; David Michael Colvin of Louisville, KY; Angela Butler and Sheila Taylor of Columbia, KY; and Travis Hunt of Campbellsville, KY

  • Eight great-grandchildren: Michael Aaron Colvin, Meredith Ann Colvin, Addison Grace Colvin, Scarlet Elizabeth Colvin, Casey Renee Colvin, Dustin Lee Milby, Joshua Darin Taylor and Kyle Butler

  • One sister-in-law: Lois Melton of Campbellsville, KY

  • and many other relatives and friends
Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to Gideon Bibles or Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
