Letter: in support of families documenting their stories

Dear Robert Stone, I'm a fan of your daily Haiku, especially today's. I love both oral and written family history and believe there are those in every family who are called to document their stories. I encourage them to either write or record them and protect those precious family names and notes.

Today's Haiku reminded me of a very dear friend, the late Mary Marshall Todd of Columbia, who I knew in her retired teacher years. She was an awesome encourager who said to me regularly, "You must write!" And when I'd respond, "I will." She'd go past encourager right on to demanding, in delightful ways. "Write more, right now! If you need a pen and paper I'll get them for you." Gosh, I miss her. Thank you, Robert, for writing! And thank you for the reminder of a wonderful encourager, fierce Democrat and UK fan. --Linda Waggener
