Mary Margaret Blackwell, 66, Adair Co., KY (1950-2016)

She was a member of a distinguished, highly regarded, old-line Adair County family. She was a member of Egypt Christian Church and was a child care provider. She was the daughter of the late Hubert Edwards and Billie Jo Miller Edwards, who survives and the widow of Keith Alan Blackwell. She leaves 13 direct living descendants.

Mary Margaret Blackwell, 66, Columbia, KY passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 1:14amET, at St. Joseph Hospital East in Lexington, KY

Funeral service Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 11amCT, at Egypt Christian Church, 4855 Knifley Road, Columbia, KY with Bro. Paul Patton the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 & after 6am until 9amCT, Thursday morning at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home & after 10amCT, Thursday at Egypt Christian Church.

She was born on July 19, 1950 in Campbellsville, KY. She was the daughter of the late Hubert Edwards & Billie Jo Miller Edwards of Columbia, KY who survives. She died Sunday, October 9, 2016, at the age of of 66 years, two months, and 21 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Keith Alan Blackwell on January 15, 2012

She is survived by her mother:

  • Billie Jo Miller Edwards of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Traci Sharpe & her husband Woody of Columbia, KY

  • Two sons: Troy Young and his wife Donna of Columbia, KY; Toby Young & his wife Ann of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Sara Jean Corbin & her husband Randy of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Tommy Edwards & his wife Lisa of Columbia, KY

  • Special Aunt: Thelma Harper Miller Cundiff of Columbia, KY

  • Ten grandchildren Miller Young, Maggie Young, Audrey Young, Silas Young, Sadie Young, Tate Sharpe, Anna Beth Sharpe, Beth Owens, Ashley Owens, and James Owens

  • Several special nieces & nephews

  • a host of other relatives and friends survives
She was a member of Egypt Christian Church and was a child care provider
