2016 Downtown Days Classic Auto Show Winners

Top prizes in the Downtown Days Classic Auto Show, held Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Adair County Judicial Center were Larry Helm, best of show, and Ronnie Bloyd, who won the People's Choice Award.

Category winners are as follows:



- Best Chevy - 1st, Terry Dudley. 2nd, Ron Tucker.


- Best Ford - 1st, Larry Cundiff. 2nd, Ronnie Bloyd.


- MOPAR - 1st, Larry Wilson. 2nd, Jim Clark.


- Rat Rod - 1st, Shawn Shirley. 2nd, Blaine Harden.


- Truck - 1st, Larry Helm. 2nd, David Hardin


- Pre-1940 - 1st, Dave Vaughn. 2nd, Gary Shaw.

Downtown Days 2016 - Classic Auto Show, Larry Helm top winner

Larry Helm, Glens Fork, KY, is shown above with his 1959 Chevrolet Apache pickup truck. It's been repainted with original turquoise, and meticulously rebuilt by Helm's nephew, J.D. Grider, Glens Fork, KY, at the Downtown Days Classic Auto Show, held for the first time in the Adair Judicial Center Parking Lot for the first time. The truck won two top awards: BEST of SHOW, and FIRST PLACE in the Truck Division. The location proved a stroke of genius, providing a perfect place venue within walking distance to other Downtown Days events.
