She was a native of Breeding, KY, and a resident of Franklin, TN at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Virgil and Emmer Bybee McKinney and the widow of James Holland Richard. She leaves six direct living descendants.

Dorothy Richard, 69 of Symrna, Tennessee formerly of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 9:22pmCT, in Franklin, Tennessee after several weeks illness.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 2pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Phillip Campbell the officiating clergy. Interment in the Bearwallow Cemetery, 6080 Bearwallow Road, Columbia, KY. The family request visitation after 10amCT, on Wednesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

She was born in Breeding, KY on March 25, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Virgil and Emmer Bybee McKinney of Adair Co., KY. She died Saturday, October 8, 2016, in Franklin, Williamson County, TN, at the age of 69 years, six months, and 13 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Holland Richard, on April 27, 1995

She is survived by:
  • One daughter: Cindy Wilson of Smyrna, TN

  • One son: James Hollard Richard Jr. of Lousville, KY

  • One brother: Pete McKinney of Breeding, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Christine Jandt, Aaron Jandt, Rebecca Jandt, and Cassie Richard
