Supt. Alan Reed makes statement on Academic Progress Superintendent Alan W. Reed, sent the following letter to Adair County School District Staff, Faculty, and employees this morning, and has agreed to share it with CM Readers: We finally did it! After nine years every school in our district is Proficient/High Progress. It has been a long climb up out of the hole we were in and I hope that today you are celebrating this magnificent turnaround with your colleagues. Yesterday I received numerous congratulatory e-mails from other KY superintendents and from citizens and community leaders across Adair County. At the board meeting yesterday evening we presented the huge new exterior banners to each principal and the whole room was all smiles. As we wrap up this week, I want to remind you that across the state and, more importantly, in our community, you/we are making a difference. Our schools are the bright spot in our area where there is still much need. We are the hope. We are the gateway to better jobs and a better way of life. I hope you are on the receiving end of the same positive comments and support that I am receiving. Continually, I remind everyone that the praise goes to our teachers, principals and support staff who love our students. I can never thank each of you enough for all the energy that you have expended and all the time that you have sacrificed to move our district forward. I, for one, am eternally grateful to you. Sincerely, Alan W. Reed, Superintendent, Adair County Schools This story was posted on 2016-09-30 08:17:07
