She was a native of Subtle, Metcalfe County, KY, and a resident of Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Garnett & Bernice Hurt. She leaves 46 direct living descendants spanning four generations.

Mildred Lowe, age 86, of Edmonton passed away peacefully Monday, September 19, 2016 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 11amCT, Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Mosby-Bragg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pmCT until 8pmCT, Wednesday and after 9amCT, Thursday at the funeral home.


Mildred Lowe, 86, Edmonton, KY (1929-2016)

She was born October 18, 1929 in Subtle, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Garnett and Bernice Hurt. She died Monday, September 19, 2016, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 86 years, 11 months, and one day.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Morgan (Ken) Rudd of Edmonton, KY; Betty (Farron) Poynter of Temple Hill, KY; and Glenda (Chuck) Thomas of Glasgow, KY

  • Five sons: Johnny (Vicky) Lowe of Butler, TN; Frankie (Mary) Lowe of Glasgow, KY; Floyd Lowe of Edmonton, KY; David Lowe of Louisville, KY; and Ricky Lowe of Edmonton

  • Fifteen grandchildren

  • Twenty-one great grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren

  • Two brothers: Howard (Gin) Hurt of Lebanon Junction, KY; and Donal (Sandy) Hurt of Michigan
She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Lowe; two brothers, Wayne and Jessie Hurt; one sister, Marie Friant; and one grandson, Anthony Church.
