Adair Co. Grand Jury returns indictments 13 Sep 2016

Charges brought against nine individuals from Adair, Casey (address Casey County) and Taylor counties. Charges include drug related offenses, rape, assault, sodomy, theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception, firearms violations, trafficking, wanton endangerment and other offenses.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Adair County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Columbia, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Tue 13 Sep 2016:

  • James Burris (12/2/1988), East 80 Drive, Columbia, KY. Indictment No. 16-CR-00095. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Possession of a controlled substance first degree, first offense, Methamphetamine. Bail set at $500. cash. Arraignment 1pmCT, October 25, 2016.

  • Renee J. Blackaby (4-1-1986), Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY. Indictment No. 16-CR-00096. Charged with 1 Count. Count 1 - Rape in the third degree. Bail set at $5,000 cash. Arraignment 1pmCT, October 25, 2016.

  • Christopher L. Janes (12-10-1993), Burnett Road, Columbia, KY. Indictment No. 16-CR-00097. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Assault in the first degree. Bail set at $50,000 cash. Arraignment 1pmCT, October 25, 2016.

  • Dakota J. Haggadone (02/12/1995), (no address given. Indictment No. 16-CR-00098. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Sodomy in the first degree. Victim less than 12 years of age. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 2nd degree. Bail set at $100,000 cash. Arraignment 1pmCT, October 25, 2016.

  • Steven R. Curry. (12-12-1979), Charlie Morrison Road, Columbia, KY. Indictment No. 16-CR-00099. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Sodomy in the First Degree. Count 2 - Rape in the first degree (victim less than 12 years of age). Bail set at $100,000 cash. Arraignment 1pmCT, October 25, 2016.

  • Simon Kirkland (05-27-1987), Bass Ridge Road, Campbellsville, KY. Indictment No. 16-CR-00100. Charged with 5 counts. Count 1 - Theft by unlawful taking or disposition, $500 but less than $10,000. Count 2 - Criminal Mischief 3rd degree. Count 3 - Burglary in the 3rd Degree. Count 4 - Operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, 1st offense. Count 5 - Public Intoxication (controlled substance. Bail set at $5,000 cash. Arraignment 1pmCT, October 25, 2016.

  • Ashley Harris (aka Corbin) (03/10/1990), Dunnville Road, Liberty, KY. Indictment No. 16-CR-00101. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Theft by Deception. Summons. Arraignment 1pmCT, October 25, 2016.

  • Thomas C. Furkin (8/7/1985), Columbia Road, Columbia, KY. Indictment No. 16-CR-00102. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Count 2 - Possession of controlled substances not in original container (Firearms Enhanced. Count 3 - Trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree, first offense. (Greaer than or equal to 10 dosage units opiates. Firearms Enhanced. Summons. Arraignment 1pmCT, October 25, 2016.

  • Nathaniel T. Johnson (12/03/1993), Mitchell Street, Columbia, KY. Indictment No. 16-CR-00103. Charged with 18 counts. Count 1 - Possession of marijuana. Count 2 - License to be in possession. Count 3 - Speeding (26 miles over limit or greater. Count 4 - Fleeing or evading police in first degree (motor vehicle. Count 5 - Wanton Endangerment 1st degree. Count 6-12 - Persistent Felony Offender 2nd degree. (7 counts) Count 13 - Failure to wear seatbelt. Counts 14 through 18 - Wanton Endangerment 1st degree (police officer. (5 counts). Bail set at $10,000 c/secured with property. Arraignment 1pmCT, October 25, 2016.
