She was a native of Jamestown, KY, and a resident of the city at the time of her death in Somerset, KY. She was a member of a highly regarded family, the daughter of the late Edna (Gaskins) and Hiram E. Bernard, and the widow of Hiram M. Knight. She leaves seven direct living descendants.

Millie J. Knight, 80, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016, at the Somerwoods Nursing and Rehab Center in Somerset, KY.

Funeral Services for Millie J. Knight will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at 11amCT, at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY. Friends may visit Monday September 12, 2016 after 5pmCT at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kean Graveyard, Clifty Creek Road, in Jamestown, KY.

Millie was born in Jamestown, Russell County, KY April 18, 1936. She was a daughter of the late Edna (Gaskins) and Hiram E. Bernard. She died Friday, September 9, 2016, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 80 years, four months, and 22 days. She is survived by

  • Three daughters: Bunnie Morris, of Campbellsville, KY; Ballarie Knight, of Telford, TN; and Kiva Knight, of Russell Springs, KY

  • Four sisters: Joyce Coe and Polly Harden of Jamestown, KY; Vivian Jordan,of Dublin, CA; andRhonda Jeffus, of Apopka, FL

  • Three grandchildren: Leah Tucker, Cody Guevara, and Meagan Cruz

  • One great granddaughter: Alyssa Cruz
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herman M. Knight, two brothers Billie and Geroge Bernard, and one sister Nila Jill Bernard.
