Geneva Ann Janes, Adair Co., KY (1943-2016)

She was a member of a highly regarded Adair Co., KY, family of Sparksville Church of the Nazarene and worked at Osh Kosh B'Gosh for many years. She was the daughter of the late Bill & Bonnie Sexton Stotts and the widow of Walter Avin Janes. She leaves four direct living descendants.

Geneva Ann Janes, 72, of Columbia, died Monday, August 22, 2016 at 9pmET at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Lonny Karnes and Bro. Brian Fudge officiating. Burial in Sparksville Baptist Church Cemetery, 9401 Burkesville Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 3pmCT Friday, August 26, 2016, at the funeral home.

Geneva Ann Janes, Adair Co., KY (1943-2016)


She was born October 23, 1943, in Sparksville, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Bill & Bonnie Sexton Stotts. She died Monday, August 22, 2016, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 72 years, nine months, and 30 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Avin Janes on May 21, 2010; three brothers, Johnny, Donald & Frankie Stotts; and two sisters, Marsha Fudge & Alice Faye Catlett.

She was a member of Sparksville Church of the Nazarene and worked at Osh Kosh B'Gosh for many years.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter: Angie (Steve) Smith of Columbia

  • One granddaughter: Brandy (Brent) Thompson of Columbia

  • Two brothers: Larry & James Stotts both of Columbia

  • Two great-grandchildren: Gracie & Emma Thompson

  • Several other relatives & friends
