By Vicky Browning Pike

This morning (Sat 20 Aug 2016) we have some of Lindsey Wilson College Bonner students helping at the Farmers Market Square Meals Cafe, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY.

Those in the accompanying photo are Olivia Gravlt, Melanie Brown, Catherine Marrihan and Barbara Armitage. There was a big turnout today for lunch. They are serving "Miss Vicky " cow today.

Never partaken of any of my beef before but she was tasty.

Thanks to these students for giving back to the community and I encourage others to volunteer to help with this effort to keep children fed, and not just on the weekend.

There is no charge to children for breakfast or lunch from a healthy menu.

If you eat all your meal you get dessert - today it was homemade pineapple mango.

So pass the word; keep our most prized possessions fed.

Grab a kid and head on down on Saturday. - Vicky

Bonner Scholars from Lindsey Wilson College, Olivia Gravlt, Melanie Brown, Catherine Marrihan, with Barbara Armitage of the Farmers Market on the Square. The Bonners were serving "Miss Vicky" cow, in hamburgers for the Square Meals Cafe. The beef was a donation from Miss Vicky's Pampered Angus Ranch, and, according to Miss Vicky herself, was quite tasty.
