LWC Men's Golf picked to finish 2nd in Mid-South Conference

By Charles Balcom

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team has been selected to finish in second place in the Mid-South Conference standings as the MSC Preseason Coaches' Poll was released by the conference office on Thursday.

The Blue Raiders collected 30 total voting points and one first-place vote. Lindsey Wilson trails only Cumberlands (KY), who was selected to win the conference in 2016-17 with 36 points and six first-place votes. Last season, the Patriots won both the regular season and tournament MSC titles.

Cumberland (TN) is picked to finish third after garnering 22 points, followed by both Campbellsville (KY) and Pikeville (KY) in fourth with 18 points. Georgetown (KY) (17 points) and Shawnee State (Ohio) (6 points) round out the poll.

Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

Lindsey Wilson opens the fall season on September 12-13 with a trip to the Coastal Georgia Invitational in St. Simons Island, GA.
