Mr. Christopher Jay York, 39, Greensburg, KY (1977-2016)

He was self-employed carpentry and construction worker. He was a native of Taylor County, KY and a resident of Green County at the time of his death. He was the son of Brbara Sue Garmon York and the late Jerry Wendell York. His wife of 15 years, Chrystal Lynn Posey York, survives. He leaves four direct living descendants. His final resting place will be in Cumberland County, at White Hill Cemetery, just south of Breeding, KY

Mr. Christopher Jay York, 39, of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, August 15, 2016.

The funeral services for Mr. Christopher Jay York will be conducted at 12pmNoonCT, Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with graveside services at 3pmCT, at the White Hill Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky. Bro. Ronnie Corbin officiating. Visitation is requested after 10amCT, Thursday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.

Mr. Christopher Jay York, Greensburg, KY (1977-2016)

Mr. Christopher Jay York of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of Barbara Sue Garmon York of Greensburg and the late Jerry Wendell York, was born on March 15, 1977 in Taylor County, Kentucky and departed this life on Monday, August 15, 2016. He was 39 years and 5 months of age.


Survived by his wife of 15 years, Chrystal Lynn Posey York of Greensburg having united in marriage on September 20, 2000.

Other survivors include:
  • Three sons and a daughter: Jerry Wendell Austin York, Haley Nicole York, Jeffrey Jay York, and Christopher Jonathon York all of Greensburg, KY
  • A brother: Greg Wendell York and his fiance', Joby Baker of Greensburg, KY
  • A niece and nephew: Emma York and Garrett York both of Greensburg, KY

  • His mother-in-law: Nellie Posey of Magnolia, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family burial expenses, which can be made at the funeral home.
