Reminder to Adair Co. School District Parents

Sign and Return "Student Acceptable Use Policy Agreement Form" forms for Chromebooks.

By Wes Feese, Media Relations, Adair County School District

The school year is off to a successful start in Adair County and teachers have planned for exciting and challenging experiences for their students. Many of those plans center on utilizing the district's wealth of technology like never before.

As the district continues its shift away from textbooks--which quickly become outdated--in favor of online and digital resources that can be updated at a moment's notice, it's more important than ever for parents and guardians to sign the Student Acceptable Use Policy Agreement Form.

"We have more than 1,000 Chromebooks and almost that many iPads in the district now," Technology Director Carla Perkins says. "With all the technology we have and as much as our teachers incorporate this technology into their lessons, it's essential that children and parents get the form signed and turned in so the student doesn't fall behind."

Students cannot access technology or use the internet at school until their forms are turned in. Teachers will provide internet safety training to all students who turn in their forms, as is required by the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA).

Students were provided forms at the beginning of the school year, but additional copies can be found at this link: Student Acceptable Use Policy Agreement Form. Or visit the district's website (Adair County School District, and follow the Technology Dept. link) or by requesting a physical copy from the student's school.
