Adair County 4-H Shooting Sports sponsored a county shoot on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at the Adair County Sportsmen Club.

There were over 150 4-H youth from 19 counties that participated in this years shoot.

Disciplines that were shot were: trap, BB, 22 sport rifle, 22 target rifle, sport air rifle, target air rifle, 22 pistol, air pistol, Black powder percussion, Black powder flintlock, Black powder pistol, Barebow archery, Bowhunter archery, Target archery, and recurve archery.

The 150 youth who participated shot over 400 different disciplines total. Awards were given to top three individual shooters in each age group and top three teams in each age group for each discipline.

This is a fund raiser for our shooting sports program and all proceeds go to help pay fees for the State shoot in September and to help support the shooting sports program during the year.

We would like to say Thanks to the Adair County Sportsmen Club for giving our program a place to not only practice but be able to host one of the largest county shoots in the state.

We would also like to say thanks to all the Adair County youth, coaches, parents, and volunteers who help put on the event. We would also like to Thank the counties who helped out running ranges and scoring and who sent their youth to compete.

It is great to see a group of youth participate in this program and everyone of their first concern is for shooting safety.
