Marie Powell, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, died Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:07amET, at the Norton-Audubon Hospital in Louisville.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 12pmNoonCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Steve Willis officiating. Burial in Bearwallow Cemetery, 6090 Liberty Road, Columbia, ky. Visitation will be from 3pm-8pmCT, Monday, August 8, 2016, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home.

Marie Powell, 75, Louisville, KY (1940-2016)

She was born October 8, 1940, in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Rollin and Bertie Wray Carter. She died Saturday, August 6, 2016, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 75 years, nine months, and 29 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Powell on November 10, 1986.

Survivors include:
  • Three daughters: Wendy Douthitt of Louisville, KY; Sherry Werner of New Salisbury, IN; and Tena Flood of Louisville, KY

  • Three half-brothers: Larry, Ronnie & Donnie Carter

  • One half-sister: Hilda Cripps

  • Six grandchildren

  • And nine great-grandchildren
