Carlie Roy, 79, Ono, Russell Co., KY (1937-2016)

He was a member of a good, respected Russell County, KY, family. He was the son of the late Arnold and Lorcie wilson Roy. He was preceded in death by his first wife, JoNell Holt Roy. His current wife of 16 years, Brenda Johnson Roy, survives. He leaves three direct and two step living descendants.

Carlie Roy, 79, of the Ono community of Russell County, died Friday evening, August 5,2016 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral service will be 10amCT, Monday, August 8, 2016, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with burial in the Parks Ridge Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be 5pm to 8pmCT, Sunday, August 7, 2016, and after 8amCT, Monday at the Bernard Funeral Home, in Russell Springs, KY.



Carlie Roy, 79, Russell County, KY (1937-2016)


He was born Friday, March 12, 1937. He was the son of the late Arnold and Lorcie Wilson Roy. He died Friday, August 5, 2016, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 79 years, four months, and 24 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, JoNell Holt Roy; a daughter, Rita McFarland; a sister, Nelpha Scales; and a brother, Arlis Roy. Carlie is survived by his present wife of 16 years, Brenda Johnson Roy, and the following:
  • Three children: Karen (Jeff) Dalton, Dean (Rhonda) Roy, and Ronda (David) Abrell, all of Russell Springs, KY

  • Two step children: Brentley (Jayna) Bault and Tracey (Vince) Popplewell, both of Russell Springs, KY

  • A sister: Bethel Tarter and a brother, Arlie (Myrna) Roy. both of Russell Springs
