Mildred Cowherd Williams, 84,Green County, KY

Mrs. Williams had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Union Baptist Church. She was united in marriage on August 25, 1956 to Twyman "Jamup" Williams who preceded her in death on October 9, 2011.

Mrs. Mildred Cowherd Williams was born February 4, 1932 in Green County, KY to the late James Otis Cowherd and Eva Ester Barnett Cowherd. She departed this life August 1, 2016 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital having attained the age of eighty-four years, five months and twenty-seven days.

Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be conducted 12noonCT Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Mt. Union Baptist Church with burial to follow in Mt. Union Cemetery. Friends of Mrs. Williams may call between 5-8pmCT Friday, August 5, 2016 and between 7-10amCT Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg and after 11amCT Saturday at the Mt. Union Baptist Church until the funeral hour.



Pallbearers: Robert Williams, Herman Mitchell, Gary Embry, Ralph Mitchell, Tommie Williams and James Darnell.

Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Bridgewater, James Griffin, Kenny Darnell, Mike Darnell, John Thomas Thompson, Eddie Ervin, Thomas Ervin and Donnie Williams.

Mrs. Williams had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Union Baptist Church. She was united in marriage on August 25, 1956 to Twyman "Jamup" Williams who preceded her in death on October 9, 2011. Besides her parents and husband she is also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister: Allen Lee Cowherd, James Ellis Cowherd and William Thomas Cowherd and Juanita Ford.

She is survived by
  • Two sons: Ricky Williams and his wife Melissa of Greensburg KY; and Steven Williams of Illinois

  • One daughter: Marilyn Williams of Boston, Massachusetts

  • Six grandchildren

  • Ten great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
