Columbia added to Airbnb location options, first for Adair The Air Bed and Breakfast (Airbnb) website says you can "book homes from local hosts in 191+ countries and experience a place like you live there" - and this week they added Columbia, Adair County, KY. There are locations in surrounding Russell, Cumberland and Taylor Counties but this is a first for Adair. Permission to open the home of Charles and Holly Edwards Grimsley, 711 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY to renters from around the world was granted in the Thursday, July 14, 2016, evening Planning and Zoning Board of Adjustments meeting. Clarification was made that this decision was not for a change of the zoning laws, the street location will stay residential. The Grimsleys were told by chairman Joe Flowers that their request meets all requirements of Columbia Planning and Zoning Commission pending meeting the signage regulations for the city street within a residential neighborhood. A copy of those regs was given to the couple so they can make their signs match. Holly says they are very excited because the corporation is so professional, even to doing background screens on renters before they come into the home. A commission percentage from each rental is kept by Airbnb. The charge for the Greensburg Street experience with continental breakfast included is $125 per night.
