Welcome Home! SSGT Daniel Kermeen & Family - from Okinawa By Pam Kermeen Welcome home! Our son SSGT Daniel Kermeen (USMC) and his family have been stationed in Okinawa, Japan for the past 27 months. They will be returning to Columbia for a two-week visit on July 13. Daniel and Tavon are both graduates of Adair County High School. While here, they will be traveling to North Carolina and South Carolina to handle business with their home and hopefully selling their car which has been stored in a facility down there since they left in March 2014. When they leave Columbia on July 28, they will be flying to Denver so Tavon can 'Walk the Line' to receive her master's degree before returning to Okinawa. He recently competed in the Hitt (High Intensity Tactical Training) Challenge in Okinawa and we are proud to say that he will now be moving on with 31 other active duty marines who took top spots in the preliminary events held at various installations earlier this summer. The high intensity tactical training ultimate championship will include roughly 30 events and will be held at the Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar, CA from August 15 through 18, 2016. After returning to Okinawa in August he will then be sent to Quantico, VA in September for instructor training. We are asking that any business, church or organization interested in posting a 'welcome home' sign to please do so. We are very excited that they are coming home for this short visit and we want them to know how proud Columbia is of all their accomplishments. We thank you for taking the time to read this. We covet your prayers for safety in travel over this very busy summer schedule. Pam Kermeen 76 Richardson Road Columbia, KY 42728 606-706-3999 This story was posted on 2016-07-13 09:27:02
