Mrs. Sheila Kay Hollenbeck, 64, of Green County, KY, departed this life on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY

The funeral services for Mrs. Sheila Kay Hollenbeck will be conducted at 12pmNoonCT, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 30 Buford Dial, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Bro. Jason Shirrell, Bro. Jeff Bell, Bro. Carl Alve and Bro. Tim LeMaster will be officiating. Visitation is requested to be from 3pm until 8pmCT, Tuesday at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, and after 9amCT until time of the funeral service Wednesday at the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.


Pallbearers: Greg Willis, Jerry Corbin, Rick Robb, Alex Corbin, Leonard Cooper, and James Skaggs.

Honorary pallbearers: VFW Auxiliary.

Sheila Kay Hollenbeck, Green County, KY (1951-2016)

Mrs. Sheila Kay Hollenbeck of Green County, KY, was daughter of the late Loren McCubbins and Lottie Milby McCubbins. She was born on August 23, 1951 in Summersville, Green County, KY, and departed this life on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY. She was 64 years, ten months, and sixteen days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She had been a homemaker for several years.

She united in marriage to Mr. Gary Elia, who preceded her in death in January of 1968. She later united in marriage to Thomas L. Hollenbeck on October 21, 1972, who survivors.

Survivors also include:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Cindy K. and Rick Little of North Carolina

  • Two grandsons: Leonard Cooper of Tennessee and Joshua Elia of Florida

  • One brother: Loren McCubbins, Jr. of Louisville, KY

  • Three sisters and a brother-in-law: Barbara Stivers of Louisville, KY; Mary Jane and Ralph Bowers of Ohio; and Carlotta Nunn of Oldham County, KY

  • A brother-in-law: Ronnie Elia of Florida

  • and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends

  • Mrs. Hollenbeck was also preceded in death by a brother: Wendell McCubbins. Send condolences to the family of Sheila Kay Hollenbeck

    The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the VFW Auxiliary or the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, which can be made at the church or the funeral home.
