The accompanying picture was taken today - July 9, 2016 - over my house in Cane Valley of a weather phenomenon referred to as a circumzenithal arc.

I've only seen two of them in my lifetime.

It's also referred to as a smiling or upside down rainbow and it's usually missed by most folks because it is high in the sky. - Robert Ellis
